There is a long coastal path that traverses the entire coastline of Brittany – I think it runs about 1800 km. It’s called “Grande Randonée 34” or “Le sentier des douaniers” – the path of the customs agents. As you might expect from me, I’m hiking bits and pieces of it here and there. Yesterday it was a beautiful, warm, clear day and I walked a mostly inland stretch near my town.
The walk took me over a bridge that looks out onto the Rade du Brest.
I went past a couple of farms with beautiful stone farmhouses and barns.
I came upon a bustling village with hydrangeas surrounding the church.
As the day went on, more and more pleasure boats filled the day. We have to look into one of those sailboat things.
Here’s hoping the weather holds for the weekend! It’s always more fun to do this kind of exploration with a friend.
