As you may know, France pretty much shuts down for the month of August. People don’t really live their normal lives during the month, and accordingly, September is universally referred to as “la rentrée” – literally, re-entry. I was no exception to this rule – I left France for most of August, for work in the US, as well as vacation on Cape Cod and in Greece. I’m back home in France now and finding that everyone else is back, too. Parking is harder to come by, the gym is much more crowded, produce in the grocery store is fresher because there is more turnover.
We had lots of adventures this summer and I’ll share them all next week… Until then, you can imagine how it felt to swim in this crystal clear Greek water.
